This week our group built a scenario from which our first assignment will be generated. The idea of building a scenario is to create a more personal design solution for the people living with it.
The Scenario:
We have emerged from a long recession (2015-2020) and life has changed quite considerably. People can once again afford 'smart' technologies, however the importance of these 'materials' possessions has been completely reassessed after the experiences of a depression.
People now.......
- Place a much higher importance on family relationships
- Spend less money on material items and luxeries
- Cultivate small areas of land in order to create a holistic food production system
- Spend more time engaging with one another, less time doing autonomous tasks/work
- Have stronger community bonds through involvement of physical projects etc
This was a short presentation that we delivered today during the tutorial period. Peter was very pleased and quite excited about the concepts that we brought to light.
